McCain did a couple of things tonight that contradict his Country First trademark and again gave us more insight into his character. First, McCain stated that he "knows how to get Bin Laden." This isn't the first time he's said that. He didn't say he would make every effort. He has clearly stated several times, "I know how to get Bin Laden." Now, if we take McCain as a man of honor who doesn't lie for personal gain, then we must assume that he KNOWS how to get Bin Laden. That logically leads us to the next question. If you know how to get him, why aren't you sharing your information with Bush right now. Why are you waiting until you're elected. And, if you're not elected, will you refuse to tell us? That doesn't seem like Country First to me. That sounds like McCain First.
Second, he has been accusing Obama of "palling around with terrorists who want to harm this country." That's a serious accusation, and by extension it's the equivalent of calling Obama a terrorist. Again, if we take McCain as a man of honor who wouldn't lie for his own personal gain, then we must assume that Obama poses a dangerous threat to the country. The best time to warn the country of this impending danger would seem to be when you have an audience of several million people. But, McCain never brought it up. Either he didn't have he courage to confront Obama to his face or he felt that it would not be advantageous to bring it up. That doesn't seem like Country First.
Another puzzling thing. McCain left the room shortly after the debate leaving Obama to work the room with that big smile and relaxed manner. He let individual members of the audience get pictures with him. It was valuable time that McCain just gave him.
Once again, Obama came off as presidential. His intellect, attitude and demeanor inspire confidence. McCain just comes off as creepy.
